Hi guys, just wondering if I need LOR from a dentist that I shadow for the ADAAS application? Or I just need to reference them and note how many hours I shadow?

some schools require a letter from a dentist. most do not. that said, it is a VERY good idea to get a letter of rec from a dentist.

check out the schools you are going to apply (by calling or the website) for find out the exact requirements.

good luck.

It's probably a good idea to have detist you shadow write LOR for you. I assume you need about 3 LORs; 2 from science professors and 1 from your professional field (from dentist, work, etc...). I had LOR from my dentist that I shadowed about 6 months and he wrote a good LOR for me. When I called NYU admission lady told me LOR from dentist is more suitable. It's best to call the school and find about the requirements. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just found out that some friends of mine that got accepted to dental schools completely made up their shadowing experiences. And they got into some of the better schools from my understanding. They had the grades though so it may help to have the letter of rec. if you don't have the grades.
