Do I need to retake DAT to improve RC and PAT if I apply CA dental schools?

PLEASE give me some valuable advice regarding my reading comp and PAT scores. Do I need to retake the DAT again to improve the scores? I am afraid the schools will turn me away because of my reading comp and PAT.
For those of the folks who scored high on the reading comp, can you provide some tips? Thanks a lot !

Wow what has this world come to with people thinking a 18 is a crappy score. So sad.......

The BS on some of these posts are overwhelming. I got a 30 on the DAT do i need to take it over. come on!!!!!!

Minige,

Your scores are great. You'll be fine.

Here we go again😀

i hope avingupta doesnt see this post

and great scores btw

Yea...definitely. RC 18 and PAT 18 would kick you out of the dental schools. If you can, you HAVE TO take it!!!!!

Just kidding! Your score is perfect with good GPA. You will get into whatever schools you apply.

Tip for reading comp: Don't read the sections, just find the answers. I wouldn't take the test again if i were in your shoes. 24/24/18 is a very solid score, you should be fine.

What's with this? People post on this board with slight imperfections in their stats🙄

I can only DREAM of having such stats being an under 3.0(and way under). Would he much rather be in my shoes than this??😳

Hmm. 3.75 average GPA, and a >95%ile DAT score.

Sorry, buddy, I just don't think you have what it takes to be a dentist. I hope you still have time to graduate summa cum laude and get those DAT numbers above 25 across the board; maybe then you could weasel a couple admissions directors into letting you in. I still wouldn't hold your breath, though.

If you are way under a 3.0 like how you say, you cant afford to dream of scores like this, you'll have to make it a reality.

Pot, meet my friend kettle 😛

Addressing the current state of the content thrown around on the board lately:
I would like to say that I enjoy it. A more relaxed environment where everyone can be free to post without being afraid that they are not professional enough to ask questions is just what the dentist ordered (bad joke). I?m fairly sure we?re all going to be dentists some day, and if we continue to talk about the average DAT for matriculants and whether or not schools prefer manila envelopes or plain white ones, we?ll have nothing to talk about at ADA conferences in 30 years. Lets all make a conscious effort to be less nerdy. So, for the sake of your future as a dental professional feel free to post away?no matter what the topic is...

I have my trash bag ready....I will now proceed to puke.

See that's a great start. Thank you Rezdawg.

You can sift through my post history if you want, but you're not going to find any that look like the one I quoted (ok, mocked) above. The idiom just don't apply here, chief 😉

I didn't mean to whine but really, how would you feel if you were in a class and one student was getting 95+ and was sucking up to the teacher to get 100. I mean there's got to be more than superduper stats. I realize some of my post lately have not been smart posts.

Sorry about starting this whole thing over again (a la avingupta sp?).

Okay, I need to focus on MY job not everybody else's.
