I have taken All of the Chem courses (including Biochem) but have not taken Ochem 2. Should I enroll in a class before applying so that I can state on the application that I have enrolled in a course? Or is it unnecessary for many schools for acceptance. I don't want to put time and money into the class if it is unnecessary. If a school does require it and I have not taken it, they can still grant me admission based on completion of the course as well correct? Thanks!

Many schools are fine with students taking biochemistry instead of organic chemistry II. Just check the websites of schools you want to apply to.

I'm finishing up organic II this semester and very little of the material is on the MCAT.

There are a handful of schools that require prerequisites to be complete before application time, or by January of the application year, but otherwise it isn't necessary to complete all prerequisites before matriculation, when proof of completion must be submitted.

But what if you're accepted off a wait list and can't complete the class in time? Consider whether it might be less stressful to tailor your application list to include only those schools that don't require OChem 2.

What are your college's pre-med requirements? Since classes vary by schools often times colleges have their pre-med courses listed and then you just take those unless you want to apply to a school that is super strict about you taking a certain class
