Hello all,
I am a recent graduate with a B.S. in Biology. I have a 2.8overall gpa and 2.4science if you average in my retakes for some classes. Do the carribean schools use only your new grade or average them both? Also, do I stand ANY chance for St.Georges/Ross/Auc??? Thank you!

you may not get into SGU, Ross, AUC or SABA which are the so called big 4 schools...did you take the MCAT? You can get into one of the 2nd yeir med schools which do produce some good residency spots for there graduates...

2.4 gpa in science. Med school is 95% science and 5% partying.
Lots of people apply offshore. In the mid/late 90's AUC was getting 6000-7000 applications a year for about 300 spots.
Apply, see what happens. No one here knows if you will get in.
Should you try? If it is in your heart go for it. I think you may have a very tough road ahead. To be successful, you will have to pass a very tough exam the USMLE1.

can't speak for SABA or AUC, but straight admission into Ross or St.G is not likely, regarless of your mcat score. However, you can still get MERPED at Ross or get into sT.G's premedical program. If you do well in these "pre" programs, you get a instant seat in the next class, which Ross has 3 a year. US med school even after a grad degree is unlikely, as is DO. I would not go to a caribbean school other than one of the known ones liek Ross, Saba, AUC, or St G becaue you don't want to look each year to see if a states added your school to the "no license" list. In my opinion, Ross is your best shot. AS long as you can score at least a 20 on MCAT, you should get merped, even with that low GPA. I don't like your chances at ST. G or SABA. NOt Saba becasue their not mandated MCAT policy will not give you a good enough chance to overcome that lackluster GPA. I have no clue about AUC. A word of warning to you friend...you better be ready to do a lot better than a 2... GPA if you want to survive at any school in the caribbeans. JMO!
