I'm about to return to school in January as a junior after a year long absence because I needed a break from doing both school and work full-time. I have always been interested in medicine and have decided that I intend to pursue an M.D degree. Unfortunately I have a few concerns:
1. My G.P.A is only 3.2 (I didn't know I wanted to be a doctor and didn't take certain classes very seriously.
2. I have four C's on my transcript two from...Beginning Internet, and Web Design (I know pathetic. I couldn't afford the books and thought I could wing these anyway by using the net. Clearly I couldn't.)
3.
During my last semester at school I took a basic chemistry course that shows up on my transcript as 2 grades. One for Chemistry and another for lab called chemistry calculations. The problem is not only did I get a C, but we didn't have labs. To clarify we had one lab that our ADHD professor (really, I'm not making fun of him) lost the grades to so he admittedly just gave everyone the grade they had in Chemistry twice. In addition a few of the class tests and homework for the basic chemistry course were also "lost". Essentially the course was a jumbled mess where the students had to constantly remind the professor to get back on subject and stop talking about how he does whatever he wants, and tells God to kiss it. Unfortunately you lost points for missing lecture so attendance was mandatory.
On the bright side concern 3 taught me a valuable lesson about being proactive in regards to education and I have already begun studying for next semester. (sorry for the mini rant)
If I retake this at another university and maintain either a 4.0 or close to it for the remainder of undergrad could I get into an M.D school.
