So I wrote up this nice little eloquent personal statement, basically outlining what i love about anesthesia and briefly mentioning my research and interest in an academic career.

2 of my anesthesiology advisors read it and said it was great, not to change, take away, or add anything else to it, to avoid detracting from the main points i'm making.

today I met with a dean of the med school, and he thinks I should include all of my accomplishments (including all the volunteer and teaching work i've done, interest in cultures and languages, etc). Basically what he's concerned about is that interviewers might only be provided with my PS and not have my CAF, and thus would not be aware of everything else i've done.

I wrote up this new essay, and there is just way too much stuff. . .it no longer has the eloquence of the original one. . .

Not sure what to do. . . 🙁

they absolutely will have your caf. i would not include all your activities in you ps, esp if you are not really adding anything to your essay other than to just remind the readers that you did some cool things.
