DO Letter (No Shadowing) vs Shadowing DO (But No Letter)

If it were between the two, which one would be better? Exclude the schools that require the DO letter. So, with most DO Schools not requiring it, which would ADCOMs prefer? Having a DO Letter (let's say rather generic, not too personal) versus shadowing a DO but not having a letter (say you weren't able to shadow enough hours for the doctor to feel comfortable writing you a letter).

Exactly. Why couldn't you do both? If you are just asking hypothetically I would guess having DO shadowing experience would be better as long as the school doesn't require a DO letter.
