So I'm beginning to get secondaries coming in. All of them require a letter from a DO. I've asked one from a DO I shadowed and he said it would "take a while", which is understand since there's no way I'm high on his priority list. I'm currently trying to find other DO to shadow and stuff, I was wondering how long people waited for their letter of recommendation from the DO?

I'm worried that by the time I get his letter of recommendation it would be "too late" since it's rolling application and my stats aren't the greatest

I'd just stay on him. Express (politely of course) that you need it to complete your application. I asked mine to write one and he did it right then. That's probably not the norm, but I would imagine most physicians would be familiar with what prospective students are going through and would make somewhat of an effort to get it done in a timely manner.

If you can't find a more reasonable DO then e-mail him/her ~2 times a week for reminder purposes stating that you need to complete your application. I shadowed my DO internist for three weeks and he gave me his letter (was a super cool and nice guy though, personality makes a big difference). Good luck and PM me if you have any questions!

Well they all require a physician's (MD or DO) letter, but nonetheless a DO letter is preferred

The DO I shadowed took a month to send a letter to interfolio. I never had to send a reminder though. Dr. was a busy person, private practice and hospital work. I would wait at least 3 weeks before a reminder. Give the DO your interfolio stuff and wait for it.

Yup. I've already completed 4 out of my 6.
