Hi All,

I recently texted the DO that I used to work for and shadow (yes text, he had just finished his fellowship when I started working for him so he’s a young and very chill guy). Before I moved to where I currently live, he offered to write me a letter for DO school even without me asking, so I texted him to get the ball rolling again and give him time to write the letter before I submit in early May. I haven’t received a response yet and it’s been about a week. My question is should I follow that text up with another one to see make sure he got it or should I just call him?

This post sounds really stupid as I’m typing it but I’m just trying to plan out what to do next.

Thanks for the help!

Do you have an email for him? You can send a request that way. Also, most DO schools don't start interviews till August. Don't panic just yet

I don’t but I could probably get it. I get what you’re saying though.

I would give it another week and give him a call slightly outside of work hours

How long ago you contacted him for the last time before asking for a letter? You said that you used to work with him and you moved away.

So, just a week ago you asked him by text to write you a letter? Is that right?

If you don't have his email, I would call him or text and ask when he is available to talk.

If he agrees, ask for his email to send Interfolio request or whatever you are going to use to keep your LORs.
