I always find myself going to the pre-osteo forum more than the pre-allo. Why is it that the DO side is more interesting?

Did you get accepted to a DO school or a MD school? I think that may be the reason.

I generally find the Pre-osteo forum to be a bit more supportive than the Pre-allo one, which is usually a bit rougher. The fact that Pre-allo gets a lot more traffic (especially from younger pre-meds, no offense intended) may have something to do with this.

I never go on pre-allo, it is too full of immaturity.

you pre-osteo guys are my homies

manhug

I don't go on Pre-Allo anymore, it's not entertaining anymore.

He's goin to Drexel.

I too find myself visiting pre-DO more, but just because I'll be going to a DO school most likely.

pre-DO seems to have less trolls.

That is the same reason for me, I think I'll be going to a DO school so I come here more often than I used to.

Pre-Osteo doesn't really attract the neurotic kids. You won't have threads on here that are along the lines of "I got a B+, OMG NO DOCTOR FOR ME?". Usually people will posts legitamite concerns and overall the vibe is more mature and friendly. While a few people may not get answers they want to hear (Such as the 6 times taking the MCAT and only scoring a 20 guy) but overall we're pretty supportive.

Over at Pre-Allo, anything below a 3.6/30, they'll tell you to just apply DO and don't bother with MD.

Agreed, pre DO seems more laid back

Because the DO forum is more down to earth and isn't full of insufferable asswipes.

I kinda concur with this. haha

We all concur. Now post this in pre-allo. Haha

DO students also host better parties than do MD students

what am i reading?

not everything has to be a competition. it just makes you look insecure.

pre-osteo makes me cringe with all these threads. there's 100x more "DO>MD" talk in here, and MD kids rarely even mention DO. strong insecurity. pls stop.

MS-0. Quality everything. Congratulations I guess, and welcome to medical school.

I was being serious in my previous post. Even if they're in jest, the DO/MD competition threads are all cringe central.

I've heard DO students are also better looking

Pre-DOs also have mutant powers like telekinesis, teleportation, and other crazy sh**.

I've been looking into getting my janitorial degree for quite some time now.....not sure though the sacrifice is huge.

Do you want to be a bright, shining glorious mutant where all underlings bast in your wonder? Or do you want to be a janitor? I mean, the sacrifice is great but it sure is rewarding.

I thought their mutant power was being normal?

It seemed everyone was pretty normal at my DO interviews..couple of strange characters, but overall normal. At my MD interviews, it seemed everyone had some sort of social issue mixed with that they all hated each other because they were competing for spots in the school. Many weirdos as well. I remember one guy laminating his MCAT score on a big card and showing people, another girl could not make eye contact with people, and this other dude just laughed inappropriately a bunch of the time..was very strange.

The DO and MD interviews were pretty much the same for me. Everyone acted normally at each.

HOWEVER, when it comes to these forums the pre-allo kids are insufferable. Not one original post on that side. Pre-osteo is more interesting and ppl are less uptight. I likes it.

I only applied DO, so I wouldn't be able to compare the two. I will say that most of the people I met while interviewing were really cool and nice though. I was expecting there to be some arrogant/socially awkward folks, but I don't remember anyone being like that at all. The comment about the guy laminating his MCAT is pure gold though. Haha

Probably has something to do with the fact that the Md track is more forgiving to the gunner pre meds and DO is more forgiving to non trads in general. If grade replacement was in Md and not DO, it would be more balanced.. But I think most of us are a few years removed from college graduation, so we have a slight bit more maturity.. I usually see a lot of support in both forums though

i wonder how many people actually uses grade replacement. Personally, i don't know anybody who took advantage of it

I did. Retook about 8 c's, 99% of which were science classes. So, in essence, it brought my science gpa from 2.99 to 3.72, and my cgpa from 3.18 to 3.56. I took advantage of grade replacement like a fat kid takes advantage of discounts at a candy store!
