I have been worrying about this for quite some time. I took honors versions of humanities and social science classes, an engineering class, and as a result of many B+'s and A-'s have an AO GPA of 3.64. My Science is a 3.893 and my total GPA is 3.823. Will adcoms percieve this negatively.😕

Oh, and I am not joking, and I could not find another thread on this specific matter, so I am not :beat:. I am just an obsessive neurotic premed.

My GPA's were pretty close to those and I got into a top tier school and have gotten interviews at most of the schools I applied to. Don't worry about it too much.

You say you're not a neurotic premed, but then again you did list the GPA's to the third decimal point, which means you recalculated past what even AMCAS does...

That being said, you're grades are fine. relax.

OHNODAPOPO, he DID say he was neurotic. At least he admits it.
Funkydrmonkey, your grades are fine. They're better than mine. Focus on the MCAT.

It's difficult to say how the committees see the AO GPA. I can tell you from personal experience that a low one won't tank your application. My science GPA was around 3.9 and my AO was about 3.1, but I had taken very few non-science classes (less than 20 credits). I was accepted to a very prestigious school and given a full-ride from another. So I wouldn't worry about it.

What does AO stand for?

I thought all you had to list was BCMP & Overall GPA?

AO stands for All other GPA which is basically everything but the BCPM.

That and thanks. I guess I am more at ease. Now all I have to do is wait the next It is 22 days, 12 hours, 16 minutes until MCAT scores come out.

Your GPA is fine. Your AO GPA does matter, but yours is very good so I would not sweat it especially since your Overall is high.

So, which matters most to adcoms? BCPM, overall GPA, then AO?

Hmm.. it is hard to tell. They probably take all three numbers in context.
