Do med schools often have transcription services for lectures?

Cause that would be freaking amazing.
I'm a pretty slow typer, and I often find myself having to pause lecture to write down necessary information.

And I have *mild* hearing problems that sometimes make taking notes during lecture a bit more difficult.

I think I'd pay good money for this service.
Just curious, thanks!

I doubt it, especially for "mild hearing problems"

Sit up from. Focus on listening and pay attention to emphasized lecture material. Just write a few words per slide to highlight important topics and just absorb concept and big picture things. Then you can rewatch the lectures at your own pace and transcribe your notes into a more detailed outline. The good thing of med school classes are that most of the time the slides are so jam packed with material that you don't need extra notes (anecdotal from my SMP MS1 classes).

1) Most schools record lectures
2) Between the powerpoints and lecture notes, I find that I rarely need to write down anything else. I have yet to come across a question on an exam where the pertinent info was only given verbally during lecture.

My school does. We have scribes and our class dues go towards them. Class dues are 200 dollars but cover other stuff also. We also get notes from previous years.

If you have a documented disability, the office for students with disabilities at the respective university your medical school is a part of will hire a transcriber for you.

Used to be that ambitious med students at most schools would offer to transcribe and sell their lecture notes. Some still do this today. But with improvement in texhnology most schools now record or stream lectures so you can watch/ rewatch them at home (at enhanced speed) and you don't need transcriptions.

New York Medical College has this. I remember this from the interview day. they have people that transcribe the lecture.

If your schools doesn't offer it and you're willing to pay for it, you could always just hire someone to transcribe your recorded lectures. I think you'll find it to be pretty low-yield though.
