I searched through past threads and have seen that majority believe that acupuncture along with chiropractic is complete pseudoscience. Moreover, it seemed that an applicant should not even mention his or her experience in the interview or personal statement.

A majority on SDN rarely represents a majority anywhere other than SDN.

In the real world there are some physicians who put stock in it and some who don't. You have no idea which you'll get as a reviewer or an interviewer. Keep in mind an admissions committee's responsibility isn't to judge you on whether you've done acupuncture, it's to look at your whole picture and decide whether you exhibit the judgment they want from a doctor. If you mention it in your app, be sure you're comfortable talking about it in a way shows you've done the research and have a grounded reason for doing what you do, as that's a process they'll expect of you as a physician later on. Be aware some interviewers may use it as a point to test whether they can get under your skin and turn you defensive. It's not personal, it's a common tactic to gauge how you deal with stress. If you're not comfortable with that, then leave it off (except, of course, if it's on a transcript that you have to submit, there's no getting around that).

Risk vs. reward:

  • Best-case scenario: a reviewer/interviewer who does not completely dismiss acupuncture sees it on your app and thinks "huh, that's mildly interesting" before focusing on the particulars of your app that are more pertinent.
  • Worst-case scenario: a reviewer/interviewer completely dismisses acupuncture, views it as quackery, transitively assumes quackery on your part, and summarily dismisses you or puts significant pressure on you during an interview.
Personally I would find the potential reward much less significant than the potential risk.

I wouldn't take you very seriously as an applicant, and definitely would grill you like a steak during interviews, specially trying to assess your critical thinking and logic skills.

Acupuncture may be beneficial also. The treatment involves insertion of needles to stimulate acupuncture points on the body which helps the body to heal and to improve functioning itself. Acupuncture tries to settle the flow of energy via using needles, based on which part of the body is facing problem. Inserting needle in the right location create an effect on the flow of the energy of the body. Vist this site for more knowledge!
