Hi, I am new to this forum and is currently preparing for my MCAT. I am just wondering if Medical Schools see all your MCAT attempts. Is it possible to take it numerous times without affecting your application?

They see all of the tests you had scored, but do not know anything about the tests you voided. A voided test is like you were never there. How schools deal with multiple MCATs depends on the school. For the most part, it's seen as a negative.

how many times makes it seem 'negative'?...

and are we talking US schools or Canadian?

my TPR teacher just told me that even if you void, med schools will see that you voided and you would need a good reason to explain yourself -- this totally contradicts what I've been reading here on sdn. Can anyone confirm which one is true..?

Thanks!

Your TRP teacher must have been quite misinformed.

Yea man, I think the TPR teacher was just flat out wrong.

These teachers aren't some type of super heroes who know everything. My friend is a teacher and there's a lot of things he doesn't give a F about and/or doesn't know.

How much does he get paid for teaching?

your tpr teacher is wrong and should be fired..whats his name?

as for payment, it can vary..but most get like $16+ (from the ones I know)...its a pretty sweet job especially if your a science teacher and your teach the sciences like Gchem..."this is an atom...this is a molecule...this is a bond''....I cant beleive i wasted like 1500 on that course lol

Another vote for "your teacher was wrong." You don't have to believe all us SDNers though...it says it somewhere on the aamc site...don't remember where exactly, but I do remember reading it.

I don't remember but i think it was in the range of what DJDakoo said above...around $ 15 an hour. And considering that while you teach, you yourself add to your basic science knowledge, its a good deal. Its like getting paid to study. And also i think he is writing it down for an extracuricular activity on his apps, so it helps in that way too.

Taking an MCAT for a second time is definitely not seen as a negative as long as you improve. Ive even heard of people taking it three times but because they've improved over 10 points on the third try it was worth it. Three times has more of a bad name overall I think roughly 15 percent of total test takers do it twice(which isnt a very small minority) while 0.1 take it three times
