I just got my second acceptance recently, and I am pretty happy about this, even though I probably won't be attending this school (I'm pretty sure I'm going to attend the first school I was accepted to).

If I'm not going to be attending this second school, I guess I have no reason to be happy, but I think I am happy because it gave me a sense of reaffirmation about my abilities. It feels good that another good school and their admissions committee felt that I deserved to go to their school.

Am I right to be happy about this? Is there any one else with a similar experience?

MedIsInMyBlood,

I applied to a ton of schools last year, rejected by all. This year I applied to just two. I was able to get an early acceptance to my second choice school so I ended up just applying to my first choice school (which I ended up being rejected from).

Since I had so many rejections over two app cycles I do have to say that sometimes I think it was a mistake or at least a fluke. In some respects it would have been nice to be reaffirmed with multiple acceptances. But at the end of the day, I am glad I saved some money to make up for how much I lost in the first app cycle.

I am very thankful for my multiple acceptances, it made me feel like a boss when I got them. But now that feeling is over and I just want to start school already.

I definitely understand what you're talking about. I got accepted to the two places I chose to interview at (Stopped interviewing after my acceptance to KCUMB:soexcited:) and received secondaries from every school I applied (except William-Carey... funny enough). After being rejected from every school last year, to have such a stunning comeback really ignited my passion for medicine. I don't know if I felt better about myself, but I definitely felt more justified and confirmed about being a physician.

In any case, I got in!

Congrats to you all as well, and if it didn't happen this cycle, brush yourself off, fix whatever needs fixed, and go at it again. It's totally possible!👍

I agree that having multiple acceptances does make you feel better & more confident. I had 5 interview invites & attended 3 of those - the first 2 accepted me and then the 3rd waitlisted me. That was kind of a hit after the acceptances.

I think if more than one school accepts you it makes you feel that the acceptance wasn't a fluke.
