Hi folks, I REALLY appreciate your help on this.
Initially, I took the DAT twice. I got 1 interview only and was put on the waiting list. I thought I would take the DAT for the third time to increase my chance to get in especially after being on the wait-list for 6 months but my third scores were the worst, and finally I got rejected. Now I am applying for next year and was allowed to take the DAT one final time in December. How should I study?? I used Kaplan books for the first two attempts and Top-score + Kaplan for the third. How should I approach my last attempt??? here are my scores:
DAT 1:
PA 15
QR 15
RC 16
B: 17
GC 18
OC 15
TS17
AA 16
DAT 2:
PA 15
QR 15
RC 18
B: 21
GC 20
OC 19
TS 20
AA 19
DAT 3:
PA 18
QR 15
RC 13
B: 17
GC 19
OC 17
TS 18
AA 16
I've got B.A. in biology, GPA: 3.75.
Thank you so much:
My mistake was taking the first DAT without ANY study!
Effective January 2007: The 3rd DAT attempt is the last one. However, you can apply for a special permission to take the DAT for a fourth time.
Please guys, I need advice here, I don't want criticism! What should I do to make my fourth attempt significantly different?????

This is what I think you should do. Keep trying.Use the destroyer. you have fluctuated on several scores over the years. I would definately take time off and just study for the DAT for at least 2 months. Where did you go to school?
I think you should cut your losses and go back to Premed. Dental isnt for Premed rejects. This field is meant for people who are genuinely interested in the field of dentistry and it obviously shows that you arent by your three failed DAT attempts and by the fact that you have also taken the MCAT and applied to med schools before and been rejected and now probably think Dental is the easier route.![]()
Hey man, BodybldgDoc, your negativity is neither warranted nor wanted here. If you're going to post bs like this, why don't you sit back and think before hitting the submit button. Your post offers nothing positive to this thread, to this board or to the dental community in general. If you don't have anything constructive to say move on.

what I posted was bs but telling this guy to take retake the DAT 10 times over isnt? Are you for real internet tough guy? Everyone has an opinion. If you dont like mine then I suggest you move on.
Opinion's are like rectums, everyone has one. Only the insecure feel the need to belittle and put down others when they are vulnerable, especially on the internet. Hopefully you mature before you become a dentist BodybldgDoc, otherwise you'll have a very tough road ahead of you.Opinion's are like rectums, everyone has one. I'm not sure how much I can help, but you should already have a good idea of the real test. What it appears like to me is perhaps study skills? Maybe you should take the time to really understand the material and less pure memorizing. It's not a really difficult test if you put in the time. Just my .02
