hi guys graduating next may and still triyn to decide if i wanna do med school or go for the DO? curious if any1 could offer from advice mayb a pro and con list of the two? I no the two biggest are DO is easier but i come from a family of docs and want to continue what my family has been doin plus my parents mite not look fondly of me if i go for the DO

any1 been in my shoes n can help?

OP, don't listen to these people being asses on sdn.

First you will have to take the SAT or GED to get into a good DO school. Study hard for this exam. If you want to go to medical school study hard and KILL the LSAT exam. You can always do a dual DO/MD and take both exams but that's only if you want to do surgery. Good luck!!!

On the off chance that you arn't a troll and just sincerely feel the need to write like that.. DOs also go to med school. It's just a med school that gives graduates a DO instead of an MD. Both are med schools. What grade are you in? First step towards becoming a grown up and pursuing your med school dreams would be to start writing a bit more like an adult instead of whatever that is.

No way. No need to apply to lowly DO schools. Your too smart for that. I would suggest only applying to Stanford, John Hopkins, Washington University, schools like that. You could probably bypass the MCAT if you get killer grades in college. They may even pay you to go to medical school. Only go for the highest goals. Never settle.
