Does AMCAS notify our premed advisors where we are holding acceptances or do they ever notify them? I'm just curious how much discussion happends between AMCAS, med schools, and our pre-med advisors.

In Texas our med schools are not part of AMCAS, they have their own group (TMDSAS). Our advisors know everything about us concerning med school (when and where we got interviews) and I am suspicious that they may even know where we get in before we do!

Our pre-med office knows NOTHING, as far as we've been told. They even ask us to kindly keep them updated when we get acceptances so they can keep track of their stats.

our pre-med advisor told us to keep him updated too. but now that all the med schools know where we are holding acceptances i wondered if our advisors somehow found out too. then what about even after may 15?

My pre-med advisor told us that he has access to an AMCAS site that lists where people have been accepted from my school. He only has access to ACCEPTANCES...nothing else as far as I know. So every advisor can see where the students from their school have been accepted.

My pre-med advisor was CC'ed on my acceptance to one of my schools. I dunno about the others.

My Case Western acceptance was cc'd to my pre-med advisor. I don't remember about other schools, though. She asks us to give her a list of results, though, when we've made our final decision, so she must not get everything automatically.

they have to find out sometime. The Davis pre-med advisors send out a list of Med schools that accepted at least 4 of our undergrad applicants.
