So December of last year I accepted a job from Kaplan to be a TA for their clinical skills classes. This was after I had finished and applied for residency through ERAS but I still had interviews going on. A few interviews had passed so I sent emails to those programs informing them of this new employment and I also told future interviewers about being hired by Kaplan. The day I accepted the job they informed me that training etc would start within a few weeks after HR formalities were completed but these deadlines lapsed and I was given vague assurances that my paperwork was being processed when I asked about what was going on. They just got back to me today saying that finally my paperwork was processed and they are ready to have me come in. At this point I am less inclined to work for them and wanted to know if this would be an issue when programs do background checks etc if I decline the offer.

no one is gonna care...but if you are inclined to become less inclined to work at a place that takes forever to get paperwork done, you are in for a rude awakening when it comes to applying for credentials at hospitals....
