hi! I have a question for those who set up their auditions in rads for 4th year. I am looking to match allopathic, but would like to also audition at a few osteopathic places as well. What worked for you? Is it a good idea to do all of your auditions in radiology? Should I set up some with MD programs as well? I feel like as a student there isn't much we can contribute so I wasn't sure how this all worked...Which brings me to my next question..what are auditions like?

sorry in advance if these are silly questions!

It depends on your board scores, but I would apply ACGME if at all possible. I would also rotate in at least a few ACGmE programs. The weird thing about 'auditioning' in rads is that you are pretty much worthless. The good news is that you usually get to go home early and auditions are like doing a really chill rotation. Just be fun to be around in the reading rooms and don't be a bother and you should be fine. Remember, the best thing to do is get some face time with the attendings, because you must get a LoR from them. Again though, you are expected to know literally zero as a med student so don't try to point out fractures and stuff because you have no idea what you are talking about. In my opinion, my IR rotations were the best way to shine and get to know attendings. You have more one on one time with them and they will write you good letters. Let me know if you ha e any questions. Currently going through the interviews now...
