I thoguht the same thing when I was applying until I realized that it really doesnt matter which medical school you go to. IMHO, except in extreme cases, residency programs care more about how you did on the standardized boards, your clinical letters, and research. Now granted, thats just what I've "heard" not "seen" directly...but I think I'm fairly correct on this. Any others want to weigh in?
Also, as has been discussed elsewhere on this board, the rankings for allopathic schools are mainly taking into account how much money the NIH (National Institutes of Health) gives the schools for research. While some may consider this an important way to rank schools, I don't. Its really up to your own opintions and how the school "feels" to you.
There have been ~some~ kind of rankings on here in regards to MCAT scores but I believe that it is fairly outdated. Try a search.
