Being a future DO student, the admissions director at the school I will be attending told us that in 2015 all AOA programs are transitioning into ACGME programs. Basically, MDs and DOs will have the same match now.
Will this make the DO residency application process easier? What kind of implications does everyone think this will have on the state of DOs as separate from MDs? It seems like the two disciplines are merging together more and more as the years go by. Will competitive residencies be more attainable now or will there still be a potential stigma with allopathic-favorite programs so to say?
Haven't seen anything about this on here and was wondering what anyone else has heard or thinks particularly those that have been through the DO residency process.
