I applied to IM programs through ERAS and got some interviews for DO residencies. One of them being dessert regional medical center for example. However I am an MD candidate. How does this work for an MD to go through a DO residency? Will i still get an MD licence. Sorry if this is such a basic question. Thank you!

Yeah. They’re going acgme or closing so it trains MDs and DOs. But you will be expected to treat the whole patient at a former DO residency and you’ll frequently get referrals from MDs who have to admit they’re not holistic enough to treat their patients.

You’ll still have your MD designation. Pretty sure everyone will be ACGME within the year; There won’t be any osteopathic recognition going on with your accreditation.

Outragous! I find it sad that MDs can now waltz into our residency while DOs are shut off from places like NYU 🙁

Uh NYU is hard for US MDs too. Top programs can afford to do whatever they want.
