Do you think that schools will consider extenuating circumstances. My sophomore year my sister was diagnosed with cancer, and she ended up dying during my junior year, during that time when I was trying to split time with her and school my grades slipped, I did replace the grades in those classes with much better ones, but I am wondering if the schools will consider this?

When I see early poor performance followed by excellent performance, OR a sudden but reversible dip in performance, I'll often ask an interviewee to explain it. You circumstances are certainly understandable. My sympathathies to you, and I expect you'll fine with applications and interviews. By bouncing back, you've shown your resilience.

Thank you Goro, I appreciate your input especially from someone on an admissions committee🙂

sorry for your loss. bad grades need to be explained with a good excuse. you have a very good excuse. if you had good grades, bad, and then good again, they will definitely understand.
