Hi Catalystik,

1-Yes, as far as active clinical experience goes. I volunteered as a patient transporter and have only 50 hours.
2-Yes, I shadowed one primary care doctor for 75 hours.
3-With Habitat I only helped out with that one project for roughly 50 hours. Unfortunately, this was not directly working with the homeowners.
4-24 hours and about a month and a half. My role was basically to set up and run the different gels as well as clean glassware and gel dams.
5-By far I have the most hours working at 3600 hours.

I now see that I might not have enough experience directly working with the underprivileged as my Habitat hours weren't really working directly with the future homeowners. Anyway sorry for not being clear with the first post. Hope this helps and I will be sure to update when I have a MCAT score.

Thanks.
1) Can you possibly ramp up those hours over the summer? Patient transporter is a good source of active clinical experience, but 50 hours is going to make it hard for adcomms to take your application seriously. You'd be better off waiting a year to apply.

2) Perfect! You're done, unless you apply somewhere requiring a DO letter.

3) Another project or two on the application would be a good goal. As the future homeowner is required to spend personal time helping with a "build" you'd hopefully have the chance to interact more. Alternatively, there are other opportunities out there with soup kitchens, homeless shelters, etc.
