I thought I found a thread that answered this, but I'm not seeing it 😕

I want to know if specifically DO schools calculate GPA using + or - grades? I have a B+, and I don't know if that'll come in as a 3.0*4 quality points or 3.5*4 quality points.

I hope someone knows! Thanks!

3.3*4 unless you specify that your school calculated it differently

Humm.. my school uses 3.5, but even if it's 3.3 that shouldn't be a big problem. I'll take it, I'm just glad it wasn't 3.0!

Look in the grade entering instructions, there is a way to get the 3.5. Trust me, you want the 3.5, you want to help your GPA as much as possible....

DO schools use + or – when calculating the GPA from applicants with the exception of TCOM. Texas does not use + or – in grades.

o man i didnt know that. i thought this was just how it is with AACOMAS and accepted it. is it too late for me to have it changed?

AACOMAS will calculate your grade by whatever system your school used provided that it is on your official transcript (most official transcripts include a grade point designation for each grade).

When you input your grades, if your school awarded 3.5 for a B+, then for "AACOMAS Grade" you would put "3.5" instead of "B+".

I don't know if you can change it after you've been verified or not.

just emailed them so i guess ill see what happens.

Where do the pluses and minuses come from? I don't have any of those on my transcripts. You get an A or an A. There's no such thing here as A+, etc.

Different schools do their grading differently. I go to a private school and they do the +/- scale.
