Does anyone know if I applied last cycle and I have also applied this cycle, do most DO schools keep last years PRIMARY APPLICATION on file and compare it with the Primary Application?!?!? I am asking because most school ask if you are a reapplicant and by saying "YES" will they go back and check your previous application as well as the current one?!?!

if anyone knows, please chime in. Thank you! 🙂

They do for MD. I can't imagine they wouldn't for DO.

I just hope that you are not trying to cover up for the academic dishonesty issue that you shared earlier on this site. If you reported it on the last application, you probably should report it again. Otherwise you haven't learned your lesson and have no problems continuing to be dishonest.

If I am totally off base and you actually want to change a mistake from the previous year, you should definitely change it. Likewise, if it is about the case of academic dishonesty and you failed to report it last year, reporting it this year would be a sign of integrity and growth. At least in my opinion.

In any case, your attitude really shouldn't be questioning whether the schools see old applications, but trying to fill out the most accurate application for the current cycle.

If you never applied to the specific school, then you aren't a reapplicant (as in, if you never selected the school in last year).

Now if you're trying to lie your way into a school that you already applied to than you should change that since they do have your records from last year. Just because you have to send them again doesn't mean they don't have a copy on file.

Just like the internet, assume they have records of everything. Most schools will hold on to last year's app, but really its school specific so some might not. Its impossible to know for sure without explicitly asking them, which will probably give you the same suspicion shown by posters on this thread

Be honest in your apps and assume they know you, can see what you type on here, and at least can figure out if you explicitly lie to them or conceal something important. The last thing you want is to have your acceptance rescinded, or worse yet to be dismissed in the middle of med school because you hid something on your app.
