My apologies if this question has been answered already, but, someone told me that schools only look at your AADSAS GPA?. Do they not look at what classes you took throughout your education and your course load because they dont have access to your transcript?
Thanks

I think it is you have to first make the AADSAS GPA cutoff, and then they will look at your classes?

Ive had my course load addressed in some of my interviews, so I would say they do look at your transcript.

What's the AADSAS GPA cut off?
Schools are not very likely to be honest about this, but sometimes they can look at an AADSAS GPA and refuse to review the remainder of your application if it is low enough that they fear you not being able to succeed in dental school.

I believe that if there is a disparity between the dat and gpa, for example, a 19AA and a 4.0gpa, they may look at the course load to see if the 4.0 came from taking 2 classes a semester for 6 years 😉. I think if your stats match up they won't be to thorough, but thats just my opinion.

They look at both and have access to your transcript. If you go to the "Check Status" tab and you download your application, everything on there is what the school sees PLUS your LORs will be added into that application. They'll see your demographics, DATs, Course History/Transcript, your billion GPAs, your PS, your LORs, your secondary answers.....everything is in that PDF 🙂

Some interviewers review the classes some don’t. I had an interviewer ask me why I dropped the kickboxing class I took at a community college years earlier. Another flat out told me he hadn’t taken the time to review my file.

It's different for every school.

OP: They look at both, but GPA is more important.

Which looks better, A student who got 4.0 GPA who took 10 credit hours and a student got 3.8 GPA who took 15 credit hours with research?

The latter. Shows you can handle a tough course load (like that in dental school) along with research (which itself is time consuming) and still manage really good grades.
