Hello Everybody,

Only recently have I started considering DO schools, as opposed to M.D schools. I would appreciate information on what extra curricular DO schools are particular about. Is it the same as for MD schools? Little less stringent? More?

Also, this is probably as dumb question...but when Med School applicants put up tutoring as one of their extra curriculars, does that mean they have tutored fellow college students or students of lower academic levels (High school etc) or either/both?

Thank you in advance!

I don't think they are "particular" about any ECs specifically, but you should have some exposure to osteopathic physicians (ideally, both shadowing and other clinical experience). DO school may be a little more forgiving of mediocre stats when the ECs are fantastic. They tend to appreciate experience (i.e. an applicant who has been working in healthcare for years).

When people list tutoring, they generally specify which sort of tutoring in the description.
