Do any of the DO schools have a large instate preference?

Such as UMDNJ - is it primarily New Jersery residents who are accepted?

sorry if this question is answered somewhere else - i couldn't seem to find it.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure all the public schools have a preference to in-state residents and residents of surrounding states.

PCOM tends to show the love to instate residents even though it is private

MSU, OSU, OU, TCOM, and UMDNJ are state schools. They take majority of their students from in-state.

GA-PCOM most def. shows love for GA, SC, FL, NC, and AL....If you are South of the Mason Dixon apply here!

Ok, here's the deal, this question comes up all the time and people don't end up applying to UMDNJ cause they see state school and look at where the students are "from" and figure, 'eh, I don't live in NJ, I'm not gonna apply, I won't get in'.

That's crap. At least half of my class is out of staters, NJ students are still given preference but if you're out of state and want to come here then by all means apply. You will be turned into a NJ resident the minute you move here AND get in state tuition the very same minute.

ok, hope that's cleared up - SOM is a fantastic school and I think most people overlook it based on assumptions of the "state-school" status.

UNECOM prefers NE ppl...TCOM dont even think about if you arent from tx..state schools tend to prefer their state residents..because thats where they get funding from...the residents tax dollars...and in the case for TX...TCOM is required to by law to have 90% of their class instate.

PCOM gets state money from PA and DE and considers those students in state. They take about half their students from those two "in" states.
