This is silly, but I put off most of my humanities classes-university requirements, i.e.-philosophy, history, literature, etc...-until my senior year because to be honest, I am not a great writer (perhaps would average a B+), thus, I planned on putting off my most difficult classes after I apply to dental school, which will be the summer b4 my senior year.

With this in mind, I understand that acceptances come out early December. Does this mean that dental schools do not really consider your senior year grades because your final GPA has already been submitted on the application? And would they honestly revoke your admissions if they a 0.3-0.5 dip in your GPA senior year.

Thanks.

Once you are in, that is all that matters. I would still try to get good grades and it will look bad if you get grades below a C. But will it really matter if your GPA drops by the amount that you stated? No.

My acceptance letter came with a "contingency" saying that I maintain the same level of academic performance. The risk/reward is certainly not worth slacking off, but C's would be acceptable and would not merit a withdrawal of the acceptance. However, if you are not yet accepted, then, yes, final semester grades very much matter. UCLA even requires high school transcripts sent in with the application. How's that for Senioritis coming back to bite you in the butt.

They matter. Some want a C+ or higher. If you get a scholarship, usually they want a B or higher.

Schools can take back your acceptance. Each school has their own policy, I would advise knowing the policy of the school you plan on attending before tanking a semester. If you get all B's, you are fine. Probably fine with C's, but again, check with the school you plan to attend.

Besides schools revoking your acceptance if you get terrible grades, if you want to specialize then I would also suggest not slacking off, because from what I hear specialty schools want your college transcripts. So senior grades would be there.

Each school has their own policy like previously mentioned by other people so I suggest you look at the school's policy. I think generally a C or above avg is fine but below that will put you in the danger zone so I wouldn't risk it.

Like they said different schools have different policies. However a C or better is needed for any required class. Also, many schools do not award scholarships until a final transcript is sent out.
