Okay, so I was accepted to my state school UMKC, and also NYU..I was looking at the graduation requirements for both schools...and nyu apparenly teaches you procedures umkc doesn't!?!? ...is this true?

nyu (based on someones old post)

2 CDs
2 RPDs
1 implant overdenture
6 crowns
1 ceramic crown
1 implant crown
60 operative
1 onlay
4 arches bleaching
5 root canals (at least one molar)
10 extractions
12 quadrants SRP
2 perio surgery assists
and besides requirements you have to do formatives and summatives which faculty approve that you are competent

and for UMKC the requirements are (based on someones old post)

50 extractions,
6 arches of removable,
13 crowns, 2 bridges,
3 nitrous cases,
3 extripations in emergency,
and somwhere around 10 canals of endo (at least one molar)
I think about 90% of each class graduate on time

...does this mean my state school wont prepare me for as any procedures as NYU!?!?!!??!

Did you get wait listed at your state school? This post just doesn't seem right...

I see pretty much the same procedures just worded differently. The only thing I don't see in the UMKC requirements seem to be implant restorations, but you said the list was from an old post so they may have updated that. I think the basics are all there.

60 operatives and 8 crowns?!? That's less than half of what USC requires...

I'd check with current 3rd/4th years or the school to get more details, and remember, you can always do more than the minimal requirements.
