Hey so I know there have been posts like this before, but I wanted an updated point of view that doesnt come from 2004 lol...so any opinions/expert advice etc. I got 16 on carving and I know its not amazing but that was 71st percentile and i'm just curious I guess.

It's kinda like how QR is on the american DAT, nice to have a good score, not gonna kill your app if you don't. I had a 15 and still got many interviews and acceptances, you're fine with 16.

You might want to check with the schools you are interested in though. Some schools are moving away from the Canadian DAT and won't accept it.

but QR is calculated into your AA.. carving isnt

some schools wont have your carving on file. one of my friends interviewed at Nova, and for whatever reason he brought up in his interview that he got like a 15 in carving. When the interviewer heard this, he wrote it down onto his file..

take that for whatever it means...

^^ I know it's not in your AA, I meant in terms of importance. I assume OP will do his research into schools and only apply to the ones that take the cDAT.

It's weird that they didn't have his carving score on file, since the official score report that gets sent has it on there.

They really don't look much at it.. at more than one interview I actually had to explain what "carving" was because the interviewers had no idea what it was and were curious, hahah. Also, they didn't know what the section was out of either.

They don't care. I got a 10 on carving and have 2 acceptances so far.

when did you apply habib? and what are your stats if u dont mind me asking?

I applied in June. 3.35 gpa 20AA and 22PAT
