The school I want to send an update to has a way to do so through their online portal, so my update will not be an actual letter that I will be sending through the post office. Can I just submit one page with my name, date, and AMCAS ID at the top? Or do I need to make it look like an official business letter? The content of my update is more like an actual update + "why this school"? combined. This apparently is fine with the school I want to send an update to.
