Do US schools care about the level of the course & the year you take it in?

Lets say I want to repeat two first year courses (C- & D-) and I take both of them in the first semester of my 3rd year, so then I would have two first year courses and three 3rd year courses in the first semester of my 3rd year. Do US schools want you to take 3rd year courses in 3rd year only and does mixing up the level of courses create any problems?

The reason why I am asking this is because in Canada, some schools want 60% of the courses (3/5) in each of the two semesters to be courses from that specific year. So in both the Fall and Winter semesters of my 3rd year, at least three courses should be from the 3rd year course list in each semester.

I'm in my 2nd year and I need to give in my course list for next year soon so I just wanted to make sure if doing this will create any problems..Thanks

If there are any US schools that picky, I have not heard of them. Redeeming poor grades at any point in your education would generally be considered a good strategy, particularly if they are prerequisites (which helps you do well on the MCAT). Going on to excel in upper-level courses in Bio and Biochem would be an excellent next step.

Ahh okay thanks Catal., that's good to know.

Try to take some advanced courses if you can.

Yeah I will be. Along with this two first year courses, I'll have Advanced biochemistry 1&2, anatomy, genetics, physiology, botany and there was one more upper year bio course. Most of these upper year bio courses are part of my degree requirements anyway so I'm going to have to take them haha.
