Do we need to know this exponential decay??

N=No (e)^(-lambda * time)

so if you want the half life N=.5 and the equation simplifies to
t(.5)=ln 2/lambda

I'm confused...is it this formula: T1/2 = .693 / k ??

Where did you get the first formula u wrote and how would be find "e" ?
 
yea thats the equation that you wrote, except lambda = k i think?
i guess i just memorized that equation, not sure how to work with e without a calculator
