2)bacteriods
3)streptocooci
4)lactobacillius
ans key says 4...but dont u guys think streptocoocci intitiates the process of caries so it sHOULD tolerate even lower pH then lacto bacillus...WHAT DO YOU THINK ??/

q) uncomplicated healing of a wound with secondary intention ,observed microscopically at three days is MOST likeliy to show evidence of whcih of the following?

1) mature cicatrix
2)kleiod fromation
3) granulamatous formation
4)lack of acute infmalmtion

I can't remember where I read it, but strep mutans starts/initiates the caries and lactobacillius comes in after the conditions are just right, to progress the disease further. So based on that I would have picked that answer too.

Hey, The S. Mutans initiates the the infection, while making the environment acidic, causing demineralization of the tooth structure. Lactobacillus is a secondary invader, in the carious lesion. The s.mutans sets up a niche environment for the lactobacillus which grows better in a much more acidic environment compared to s. mutans. We just learned this last semester in cariology.

hope this helps

thank you so much for clearing that...ny word on other questons:)

1)no the answer should be hepers type II, since they are not asking what is the known cause of CC instead, they are asking, which has shown to have a relationship to CC and you know that hepers II causes genital lesions so thats the best option here!

2) lacto bacilius grows in a ph less than 5 whereas strept mutans grow in a ph less than 6.5 which is only slightly acidic to the normal ph of the oral cavity!

3) remember ,healing by Primary intention= healing after an injury with approximate edges whereas healing by sec. intention = healing after an injury with no approximation of edges which can be due to laceration injuries or ulcerations due to burns etc....other options are just distractions!
