Do you need a laptop in Dental School?

I need to buy a new computer and I am wondering if I should buy a desktop or laptop. I start dental school in september and would like to know if we need a laptop for classes.

I am looking at Dell and Apple. What do you guys prefer?

Notebook or PC?
Dell or Apple?

If we don't really need a laptop for school then I would like to buy the new iMac. It was just released two weeks ago and it is simply amazing.

Almost all schools recommend/require buying a laptop. Check with the school you'll be attending regarding this. They will also have some minimum requirements for the system (RAM, hard drive, etc.). You should also check with the school whether a Mac would be compatible with them.
