Do you need the last quarter of chemistry for the MCAT? (UCLA Chem 14D)

14D. Organic Reactions and Pharmaceuticals. (4)
Lecture, three hours; discussion, one hour. Enforced requisite: course 14C with grade of C- or better. Organic reactions, nucleophilic and electrophilic substitutions and additions; electrophilic aromatic substitutions, carbonyl reactions, catalysis, molecular basis of drug action, and organic chemistry of pharmaceuticals. P/NP or letter grading.

I am thinking of taking the MCAT before taking this course. How important are these subjects on the MCAT?

Another option is to take the class concurrently with the previous course in the series, Chemistry 14C. If there's any UCLA students out there, does Chem 14D build off Chem 14C or could you take them at the same time?

Thanks.

They are important, but you don't need them to score 30+ (so it really depends on what score you want). Maybe not the pas 2 parts with drug action/chemistry of pharmaceuticals, but I'm sure that if a passage on those topics come up you will be at a huge advantage.

just do it. It's not hard and hardinger is the bomb. 14C is definitely a prereq for 14D, and if and have literally no experience with organic reactions or much less organic structure, you're pretty much screwed for the ochem.
I suppose you could self learn some 14D while taking 14C simultaneously, but when it comes to stuff like EAS, you really need to understand some fundamental structure details.

taking 14D doesn't guarantee that you will get those questions correst on real test, many people come from the background missing some part of mcat material but still score 30+. What really matter is how do you study in the 2-3 month period.

That quarter appears to cover a decent portion of O-chem. Hence, I would strongly recommend you take it prior to taking the MCAT. Do NOT neglect O-chem as you may very well get 3 passages and some discretes covering that area. Also, while I wouldn't be surprised if a decent number of individuals take the MCAT without completing O-Chem, it's important to realize that only about 28% of test takers score a 30 or above.
