The worst question I had was:
Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now.
I must have given a painful look, because the interviewer rephrased that quickly and was nice enough to break the ice.

Both of my interviews started out with the interviewers introducing themselves and talking about their roles in the school. The first question at one was "Isn't this a miserable day?" since it was about -20 with the windchill. The first question at the other was "How was your flight? followed by "Isn't this a miserable day?". For Seattle, it was really quite lovely, just cold.

One of my interviewers asked "So, what experience do you have in pharmacy?", and I answered "Well, I have taken medicine before." We both laughed, which was a really good way to break the ice. Then I proceeded to tell him about my hospital, retail, and volunteer experience I had in the field of pharmacy.

I was also asked "Why this school?" and if I wanted to specialize in anything.

None of my interviews were awkward, and I approached them as if I were talking to an old friend that I had not seen in a long time, you know, just being very natural in explaining how I ended up wanting to become a pharmacist, etc.

Where are you from?

This question disappointed me because I had a feeling they were more interested in where I was from and that if I wasn't from their town or area, it would lower my chances. When I told them where I was from, they sounded very disappointed.

I interviewed at the U of Minnesota...

My interviewer was really laid back, really conversational. He first introduced himself and how /why he came to the U and what he did. He then asked me

How I became interested in pharmacy
why the U of M
what other positions, besides retail, do I know of in pharmacy
the future of pharmacy
what extracurriculars i am in/ would be in the future
questions i have for him that he can answer

But i talked to other interviewees and they said their interview was more formal, rapidfire question- answer question- answer....
