Just wondering. I like to study (reading) laying down on a bed or couch. But arms get tired of holding books. Do you do massive amounts of reading in a desk or in a couch/bed? Why?

It various at times, but usually on the bed. I have a student desk in my room, but it gets annoying studying there for a long period of time. But studying on the bed is hard as well because it makes me wanna sleep. I tired studying gen chem for the MCAT on my bed but had to move to my desk because I was falling asleep. LOL

Deffinetely on the desk. I tried studying on the bed but just can't concentrate. My desk is full of MCAT crap!

definitely find a comfortable chair.... I use to wake up with a horrible back pain after a while, till I changed my chair!

Back in high school, I used to occasionally study while in the bathtub. I dropped an expensive Physics book in the water once. I no longer study in the bathtub.

I did most of my MCAT studying at a desk. In most other settings (bed, couch, etc.), I end up with neck cramps or tired arms. If I sit too long at a desk, my back muscles will painfully lock up, so I always make sure I get up to stretch and walk a bit every 15 minutes or so.

Desk for sure. I get uncomfortable studying on my bed. Arms and neck start to hurt. They also say you shouldn't do stressful things in bed, with one exception of course.

I do most of my studying at a local coffee shop. I set up at a desk, hit the americano's, and git 'er done.

My dining table has basically been transformed into my homework table. It's convenient because I eat and study at the same time.

I'm honestly leery about combining study spaces with spaces where you eat/sleep.

I understand that a dining table is great for studying, but I'd have to move my books etc before I studied. I like associating a space with studying, not with studying and eating or studying and sleeping.

Just my $.02

I start out at my desk, then end up on the couch, then bring my iPad with EK on it to bed and read Bio until I fall asleep. Ideally I would remain at my desk.

Mostly on my desk, but recently I bought a laptop table that functions as a desk while you're sitting, so I use that while I try to study in bed.

"Try" being the operative word.
