Apparently we do calc differently here, and everyone complains about it. I think it would really put my mind at ease to step in and sit in the back a few times this semester.

yes, you also shouldn't take any MCAT practice tests because preparing for the real thing is unfair to those who choose not to

It's called auditing. Just ask the professor if it's OK.

I've done this for some humanities courses I was interested in or classes of friends if we were hanging out later in the day.

Just give the professor a heads up if it's a small class and you should be fine.

This. If the professor gives you the thumbs-up, it's absolutely kosher. Some universities have policies where you must pay, usually a fairly small amount like $50, to audit a class.

Policies vary at different institutions. Don't sit in without permission. I recall an applicant who got caught and got an IA for Theft of intellectual property/resources, or somesuch.

Not at all. Last I heard there were no prohibitions on obtaining knowledge. And, there is no intellectual property in college calculus.

I audited a summer physics I class...
Then took the class in the fall for credit and it was the same professor with the exact same lectures and the same exams. Got an A without learning a lick of physics.
