I am posting this for my GF.

She has a 19 on her DAT (with pretty balanced dist.), a 3.4 gpa and VERY good EC's.

She has applied to like 25 schools and has only been rejected so far (from 5 schools)

She was complete in early-mid sept. and is freaking out that she has not had an interview invite. Do you think that something could have been wrong with her PS or secondaries? Or is this too early to be expecting an interview with her stats/completion date?

Ok here is the deal, I assume this is her first time applying so she still is not familiar with the application cycle. she applied late for her GPA and DAT, her GPA is not high and her DAT score is average, with these numbers she should have applied in June or at least early july, if she applied later than this dates she has a very low chance of getting any pre-december interviews. she might get a couple of post-december, but to be honest with you her chances are not too high. The reason she needs to apply early is because the earlier the least number of applications as the time goes by, say by August and september, there are way more people with Dat scores above 21 and GPAs above 3.5. She still has a shot for post december interviews, depending on the schools she applied to, but if she did not get in make sure next cycle she applies early june or even end of May. The timing of application is very very important, some people don't know that, they think August and september is as good as June, well it's not, Trust me.

i love dr. toothache and his numbers, they've really been so helpful!!

i would think that a 3.4 with a 19AA will get in this cycle, most likely after december or later into the cycle. It's very competitive pre-dec, most applicants have 3.5-3.7 gpa's with 20+ AA's

at least that has been the average at every interview i've gone to this year. It's an amazing profession and people see that

Try calling them at this point and make sure they have everything they need. Though it may be too late for a pre-Dec interview, there's still hope. Hang in there. I had interviews at some schools but I'm also "under review" for a few others. It's puzzling why some schools would interview me so early while others are holding off on me.

From looking at Predents and reading this forum -people with identical stats as hers get in every day. But they also get rejected every day. If you aren't above average in everything then it's not guaranteed. If you are at the average then it's possible-but again far from guaranteed.

I always see people from previous predent.com yrs and they have low stats and get in. But then I'll see a person, state resident, close to 4.0, 20+ dat, great extras and they don't get in. EITHER someone is lying or they did jail time lol. I guess you shouldn't believe everything you read.
