Do you think you would have had a better MCAT score if they'd changed the MCAT..

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I think I would have done better.

Will the scoring scale change too? Is it still gonna be out of 45?

No idea really. I am happy with my score and I am also really happy with the resources I had available to study for my test. An even playing field with only AAMC study materials available would make things interesting though.

I do like the new changes, but I'm glad that I'm taking the old version with already-established "good" and "bad" scores. If I were 10+ years younger, I'd be happy to take the new test with established "good" and "bad" scores 🙂

WTH, how you possibly posit a reasoned answer to this question? Maybe, maybe not. Would've been studying different stuff, and ultimately it's the same test of your reasoning, regardless of the subject. The MCAT could test african history and international relations, and the majority of people doing well on the current MCAT would still do well because they'd put in the hours to learn the material and thoroughly prepare. Sure, a few science virtuosos would get left behind, but I don't think we're worrying about outliers here.

Maybe if they administered the test in zero-G conditions at a space station in Saturn's rings my score would've been different...but who cares?
