Do you think someone who apply to med school with a bs in Biomed will have a easy time compared to someone who majors in biology?

No, I don't think that it matters to the admissions committee. Biomed and bio majors still take the same core sciences classes as well as the same premed classes. What matters is your GPA and MCAT scores along with any other extracurricular activities. I've been told that if the adcom's are looking at two applications, all being equal except for their majors, they look at the difficulty of the courses they took. This being said, in my opinion classes in bio and biomed majors are equally difficult because it's relative to the student's interest. I suggest that you pick the major you enjoy the most and predict that you will do the best in.

Totally agree! Major means little. BME is harder and your grades may suffer. If your GPA suffers, that ends up screwing you more than any little perceived benefit/respect associated with doing a hard major.

When I was at Hopkins, I considered doing BME thinking what you thought...and the next day, everyone told me that was silly, so I switched back to biology. Let's be serious 120 credits for bio vs. 155 required credits for BME. Bio for me! AP credits + graduate in 4 years = 12 credits per semester (including 3 credits for research!). Many undergrads who go to Hopkins, especially BME majors, are miserable. My buddies and I got to party very very often!

Go with Bio. Don't kill yourself. Certainly don't do BME if that's not where your interests really lie.
