Do a little search for some topics. I agree with the posters advice in the above link. A little modification is fine but you don't need to go gonzo on a new PS.

I agree. Transitional and prelim interviewers know why you're there; they know you're not going into medicine or surgery. I chose to change a little part of my PS to reflect this. In my anesth PS, where I wrote why I thought their program would give me the springboard I wanted, I just changed it state why I thought their prelim year would give me a great background for my chosen field. It's one sentence, and probably worth the work simply to avoid appearing lazy or thoughtless.

My school's dean of students and the department of medicine both recommend changing your personal statement why you're doing a particular prelim year. Sure, you can send them your anesthesia letter and they will understand that you need a prelim year, but so what? They want to know why you're doing medicine vs surgery vs transitional.
