Do ED docs develop "personal relationships" with ED nurses as much as I've been hearing. I swear, everyone I've talked to seems to have done their residency at Temptation Island Medical Center. Am I being fed a bunch of garbage?

I feel confident is saying there would be very little temptation in our ED, unless you are into that sort of thing.

Our ED has more male nurses than female. Of the women, there is one that weighs more than me that is after me, but, as she said, "If I threw myself at you, I'd crush you". There's a goddess with an incredible body, with a flat personality - I've tried to talk to her, but it goes nowhere. I think one of the ortho residents may have gotten a piece of her. We have some new blood, but that picture hasn't developed yet.

They say "dont **** where you eat", but, when you're constipated, what can you say? Still, our ED may be the House of God, but it is NOT the House of Love.

You're at the BI?

I hope you don't get too constipated and go drinking with that big boned women. If god forbid something happened she would tell all the other nurses, then you two would have to interact on a regular basis taking care of patients while she reminisced about you're fling :scared: Good luck with the goddess. Maybe I should post this question in the surgery forum.

She's not big boned damn it!!!! Shes was festively plup!

🙂

There isn't much of that here.... there is one doctor-nurse couple but she works in the cath lab now and he's still in the ED. ......

My ED and the nurses look like it is the party room at the Playboy Mansion. No joke. And the nurses are super efficient, smart, and have a very good "gestalt" about patients. Tampa General Hospital is in the real nice part of Tampa and is surrounded by the great nightlife spots around town, so I think that helps attract the good RNs (and good looking ones). We hear all teh time from the other residents how much they dont' mind coming down for consults when the "Jennifer Aniston of the ED" is working.

Every time you mention something about your program, I get more pissed that I didn't match there.

Did I mention the $20k signing bonus, company car, and local escort service provided at discount to the residents?

As Quinn can attest to, the hospital where I used to work had a pretty impressive stable of attractive nurses and techs. Being a secondary teaching hospital for a medical school and nursing school doesn't hurt.

As if you needed an escort service. *g*

Of course, in OUR department, the surgeons and ortho residents never seem to mind coming down.. especilly now that there are 26 women and 14 men. 😀

Hell yeah. One of my classmates was the darling of the ortho service. Some of the ortho and surgery guys would take an amazingly long time on consults if she was working. She's just one of those people that is perpetually cheerful (and attractive).

Our nurses, while brilliant at patient care, are mostly either already taken or a little older. But our PCAs (the patient care assistants) are, every last one of em, amazing. It's getting really hard not to dip the pen in the company ink but we're all trying to hold out. That being said, I'm the current odds-on favorite for being the first to crack so I'll keep you posted...

We have running jokes about our AA's. (academic associates... all premed/post bacc/type students) that are almost all thin young and attractive females...

Quinn,

You are the one I call my hero..the wind beneath my wings 😳

We have our share of hotties.

And the class that was two years ahead of mine fished off the company pier more than enough for all the rest of us put together at ECU.

If I hadn't given up entirely on socializing, hell, I might even try. But I know my place in the world.

Yeah man. I remember there was this one rad tech there who I can only describe as "exotic." She had long dark hair, had an Italian/hot look to her. Never knew her name or anything but wow. I had a thing for Michelle P., one of the RNs there, she was half-asian (which I am of course magnetically attracted to), but heard she just had a kid and has since blown up a bit.

Here at TGH we have the fortuity of being a "hub" for all the nursing students... we get the Univ of S. FL RN program, Hillsborough county nursing school, a bunch of LPN programs around, and, the hottest of all, the University of Tampa RN program... its like 25k a year and the students are almost universally smokin hot. We also get lots of EMT students from the community colleges. There was one that had this absolutely amazing derriere, and during a code I made sure she was able to do compresses. Put her up on a footstool and had her assume the proper position. My attendings got a kick out of that one.

Yeah, I know which one you're talking about. I forget her name. She was something of a wild one though. Gorgeous though.

this is my kind of discussion...leave it the ER docs to get things down and dirty...
keep it real, fellas.

perhaps a new discussion board...'RN student conquests...my story from the front lines'...

i'm sure we've all got a couple of good stories to swap around...

Navysurgeon...I smell another "tailhook" scandal brewing.

Well, since med school is probably a couple of years away for me, it sounds like I need to spend my time volunteering in the ED. But, before I commit to that, I need to hear about how attractive the males are. So, fellas, what do you have to say for yourselves and your brethren?

To quote Butt-Head...

"You are a beautiful woman. You will be with me tonight."

But then again, that got him slapped.
