"Dattoli in trouble"

Radiation oncologist gets valium for himself by posing as his partner and calling in the prescription for his wife, neither party is aware he is doing this. Rinse and repeat.

The most fascinating thing about this thread to me is that the radiation oncologists aren't concerned that he stole another doctor's identity to call in controlled substances. If someone did that using my name I'd be calling the police, too. Also a good reminder to check your prescription monitoring system to make sure your DEA # hasn't been stolen if you're not 100% electronic prescriptions.

This is more a sad story than one of malice or scandal. A sad story of how a successful doc with a lifetime of service used idiotic judgement and took a shortcut. He could have just gone to a shrink and gotten the meds and he wouldn't be in jail. The "victim" here didn't actually suffer anything. If the meds were sold on the street, that would be an entirely different matter.

Not trying to excuse him but this is a far cry from the other stories of greed and scandal. This is like someone went to the club and told the waiter to put everything on the Underhill's tab...

If you are a stressed-out doctor, call your favorite psychiatrist please… we all get stuck in ruts .

Rather than spam the forum with more pill mill threads.

Check this out: U.S. Supreme Court will hear case of Alabama doctor who prescribed powerful opioids

SCOTUS is going to review the conviction of Dr. Ruan in 2017 (21 years in prison for several charges including drug distribution and money laundering) on March 1.

Subsys/Astral apparently was a major player in he and his partner's scrutiny.

I'm not sure how he thinks his conviction will be overturned...current SCOTUS not very touchy-feely...
