This is a very sad story. However, the author's stance by using such an incendiary title followed by the comments from the lay public who feel that the callous doctors ought to be lynched just tickle me pink and make me all giddy about going to work everyday!

What a nightmare. It just shows how the public (and especially lawyers) support the fiction that all bad outcomes are avoidable, and that someone should pay whenever something bad happens.

The scary part is that this could happen to anyone. The x ray missed it, so I'm not certain what else could have been done.

Too much missing info. The article makes it sound like there was no chest xray, with no visualization of the upper esophagus. No mention of breathing difficulties or whether the child was vomiting. KUB alone isn't sufficient to rule out swallowed FB, so why no upper imaging?
