Hi all
My husband has some kind of skin disease. It's been over 1.5 years he has been seeing dermatologists. until now he saw 2 physicians/. The problem, is neither of them could diagnose that disease. And they r not taking care of it. Now his physician says it is a chronic condition and says nothingelse. Now a days its getting even worse. His physician says not even a word abt it. So please please any body knows of a physician in Detroit metro area. I live in Troy, Detroit. Distance is not a matter for us. So kindly suggest an experienced physician in Detroit. He can be anywhere. Noproblem we can go.
Thanks a lot all.

What are the characteristics of this disease? Anything make it better or worse?

My dad had a rare skin disease as well and the whole state of NY could not diagnose and treat him, so he had to go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for a month and a half. Was much better after that...

skyblue, soliciting medical advice on the internet is a not a good idea. most of the people on this board are not doctors, but medical students or premeds, and are much less qualified than the doctors you have seen already.

You're right on the money, except I think she was simply asking for the names of some good physicians in the area, not a diagnoses of her husband's problem.

Hey read my message on the top once again, I was asking for any good physicians in detroit area. Residents and medical students might know of some experienced derma physicians.

The Detroit area has a number of good dermatologists but since his condition has remained undiagnosed after seeing 2 dermatologists, I would recommend that you make an appointment with a dermatologist at either Wayne State University or Henry Ford Hospital. Here are the links to their websites:

http://www.med.wayne.edu/dermatology/web/faculty.htm

http://www.henryfordhealth.org/body.cfm?id=37261

Both places have well regarded academic dermatologists. Challenging derm cases in the Detroit area are often referred to one of these two places.

I didn't mean to offend you. It's just that people WILL give advice on this board inappropriately (premeds, med students, etc), and sometimes telling people not to solicit advice will prevent that. However, I also think that suggesting a specific doctor the internet is inappropriate.
